Our LoveLine team has been working with a single mother of five, currently pregnant with her sixth child, living in abysmal conditions with no support system. She works night shifts while dealing with unpaid child support and a landlord who neglected serious home issues: rodent and roach infestation, plumbing problems that prevented them from flushing toilets, lack of heat, and so much more.

While searching for a new rental, she was given 30 days to find a new place or risk losing the children. (Please note that there are no other issues requiring DSS involvement – JUST these terrible living conditions.) A new property was found and LoveLine is coordinating care with multiple agencies to make this move happen.

Almost none of their personal belongings could be salvaged. Everything had to go in the dumpster: clothing, bedding, mattresses, dishes, all of it. That’s how bad the neglected infestation had gotten while this mama worked hard and did her very best with what little she had.
